Now, let's dive into the nitty-gritty details of applying for a Lithuania Schengen visa from India. But don't worry, we'll make it fun and informative! In 2021, embassies around the world received a whopping 24,764 Lithuania Schengen visa applications. Out of those, only 683 (2.8%) were rejected. The Embassy of Lithuania in New Delhi alone processed 174 applications, with 23 (13.4%) unfortunate rejections. So, let's make sure you're well-prepared to increase your chances of success!

If Lithuania is calling your name, you'll need a visa to enter. Applying from India is a breeze if you're an Indian citizen or a permanent resident with a valid resident's permit. The Embassy of Lithuania in New Delhi holds the power to grant visas, but you'll submit your visa application to the reliable hands of VFS Global.

Here's the lowdown on processing times: visa applications are typically processed within 15 days. However, it's always wise to plan ahead and apply at least 15 days before your intended trip. In fact, you can even apply up to 6 months in advance, so don't procrastinate and leave it too late!

Now, let's explore the different types of Schengen visas offered at the Embassy of Lithuania in India. Depending on your purpose of travel, you'll have a few options to choose from. For shorter stays of up to three months (90 days) for tourism or visiting family and friends, the Schengen visa/short-stay visa (C) is your go-to option. On the other hand, if you're planning a lengthier visit or have been granted a temporary or permanent residence permit in Lithuania, the national visa (D) is what you'll need. This visa is typically issued for family reunions, study programs, or employment opportunities. And if you're just passing through Lithuania's airport en route to another destination, you might require an Airport Transit visa (short-stay).

Now, let's get down to business and walk you through the visa application process. Here are the six steps you need to follow:
